Thiele’s turn for resurfacing works
In another win for road safety in Schubert, the Liberal State Government has committed $140,000 for resurfacing works on the Thiele Highway near Roseworthy this financial year.
Member for Schubert Stephan Knoll said he was pleased to be able to deliver this news following concerns raised by constituents of his electorate.
“At my most recent Listening Post, one constituent was particularly concerned about the state of Thiele Highway near Roseworthy,” he said.
“I took these concerns back to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and it gave me great delight to let this gentleman know that an estimated $140,000 has been committed to resurfacing works between Roseworthy Road and Flett Road.
“With high volumes of traffic traversing this road each day, I know this will be a welcome relief to local drivers.”
The funding for these works has been committed through the Critical Road Maintenance Program, and work is scheduled to be completed in the 2018-19 financial year.
Mr Knoll said all roads under the care of DPTI were regularly inspected with any minor repairs made to ensure the road was maintained in a safe condition for all road users.
“I also encourage road users to contact the department’s 24-hour Traffic Management Centre on 1800 018 313 for issues requiring immediate attention,” Mr Knoll said.
“Calling this number to directly report an issue allows the operator to ask for clarification and will result in a more timely investigation and corrective action where required.”
