Stephan Knoll was elected as the Member for Schubert at the 2014 state election, following the retirement of long-serving former Liberal MP Ivan Venning.
In January 2017 Stephan was promoted to the State Liberal Shadow Cabinet, taking on the portfolios of Police, Emergency Services & Corrections, and Road Safety. Following the success of the Liberal party at the 2018 State election, he was appointed as the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government and as the Minister for Planning.
Stephan is a fresh voice for his electorate and is enthusiastic about making positive changes in his community, as well as protecting Schubert's rich history.
He lives in Angaston with wife Amy and daughters Ruby and Macey and is a proud and active member of the local community.
Stephan worked for his family business, Barossa Fine Foods, which provides opportunities for local producers and farmers to sell their world class products. Given his background, Stephan understands the pressures facing families and small businesses. His experience and energy makes him a valuable member of the State Liberal team that is committed to supporting families and small businesses.
Stephan, who has served as Chair of local food industry association Barossa Food, understands the importance of local events and organisations that make the Schubert electorate unique.
Furthermore, with Stephan’s business experience together with his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, he is a strong advocate for building career opportunities in Schubert, to help diversify and strengthen the local economy.
